Port Huron squeaks by Jamestown, 3-2

The game between the Port Huron Fighting Falcons and the Jamestown Ironmen was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Port Huron emerged with a 3-2 win.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Kody Polin's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Polin was all over the ice for the Fighting Falcons, as he finished with two goals in the win.

The 38 shots that Port Huron put on net surpassed the Fighting Falcons' average of 26.5 shots per game this season.

Port Huron also got a goal from Easton Powers as well. More assists for Port Huron came via Ryan Nick, who had two and Bryan Yim, Zach Badalamenti, Matthew Uvodich, and Rick DeRosa, who contributed one a piece.

Jamestown was helped by Tyler Dunagan, who grabbed one goal. Dunagan scored 8:10 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Jamestown. Aaron Scheppelman provided the assist. Brett Szajner also scored for Jamestown. In addition, Jamestown received assists from Evan Ritt and Luc Gerdes, who each chipped in one.

Max Milosek made 23 saves for Port Huron on 25 shots. The Fighting Falcons incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Reid Mimmack recorded 35 saves for the Ironmen. Jamestown incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
