Amarillo rolls over Odessa, 3-0Amarillo Sat, Nov 17, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Amarillo Bulls were firing on all cylinders against the Odessa Jackalopes, and when the final buzzer sounded Bulls emerged with a 3-0 win. Amarillo was paced by Tyler Deresky, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Deresky scored on the power play 3:16 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Amarillo. The Bulls had gotten the advantage when Odessa's Pat Thompson was sent off for slashing. Matt Sieckhaus assisted on the tally. Amarillo put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Jackalopes to score on any of their five power plays. The Bulls was steadier on the defensive front than they have been for much of this season. Amarillo gives up 2.1 goals on average per game. The 46 shots that the Bulls put on net surpassed Amarillo's average of 25.9 shots per game this season. John Rey also scored for Amarillo. More assists for Amarillo came via Mike Davis, who had two and Geoff Fortman and TJ Sarcona, who each chipped in one. Odessa was led by Lawrence Cornellier, who took three shots. Collin Delia made 17 saves for the Bulls on 17 shots. Amarillo totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play. Phil Heinle rejected 43 shots on goal for the Jackalopes. Odessa ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major.
