Michigan outlasts Port Huron, 4-2

The game between the Michigan Warriors and the Port Huron Fighting Falcons was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Michigan emerged with a 4-2 win.

The Warriors gained the winning advantage on a goal by Levi Erkkila 37 seconds into the second period and hung on until final buzzer.

Michigan was led by Brock Labelle, who racked up one goal. Labelle scored 7:32 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Michigan.

The Warriors' goal total was higher than their season average. This season, Michigan averages 1.8 goal per contest. The Warriors put 40 shots on net during the contest, more than the 22.8 they average per game.

Martin Gruse also scored for Michigan. More assists for Michigan came via AJ Marcinek, Connor Lyons, and Jake Hopfner, who each chipped in one.

Port Huron put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Michigan to score on any of its three power plays. The 31 shots that the Fighting Falcons put on net surpassed Port Huron's average of 25.0 shots per game this season.

The Fighting Falcons were helped by Mark Evan Auk, who registered one goal. Auk scored 18:20 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Port Huron. Zach Badalamenti provided the assist. Port Huron also got a goal from Ian Miller as well. In addition, Port Huron received assists from Daniel Rehnstrom, Matthew Uvodich, and Rick DeRosa, who contributed one a piece.

Trevor Gorsuch made 29 saves for the Warriors on 31 shots. Michigan incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Max Milosek recorded 36 saves for Port Huron. The Fighting Falcons incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
