Hendrickson leads Coulee Region over Aberdeen, 5-2

Behind a great game by Garrett Hendrickson, who had one goal and three assists, the Coulee Region Chill defeated the Aberdeen Wings, 5-2.

Hendrickson got on the board by slotting home a goal 4:43 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Coulee Region. Travis Underwood provided the assist. Hendrickson dished an assist on Sean Lang's goal that made the score 1-0 Coulee Region at 13:47 into the first period. He then added assists on Cory Lushanko's goal at 5:09 into the second and on Lushanko's goal at 17:53 into the third.

Coulee Region outdid its season average for goals scored. The Chill average 2.4 goals per game. Coulee Region's offense was clicking better than usual and put 44 shots on goal during the game, better than the 27.7 shots per game it averages.

Coulee Region also got points from Lushanko, who also finished with two goals and two assists. Eddie Matsushima also scored for Coulee Region. Other players who recorded assists for Coulee Region were Derek Smith, Mike McMahon, Mac Jansen, and Adam Lovick, who contributed one a piece.

The Chill were unable to stop Aberdeen from sending pucks towards the net, and the Wings eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

Aberdeen was helped by Peter Krieger, who had one goal. Krieger scored 8:29 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Coulee Region. Jake Horton picked up the assist. Aberdeen also got a goal from Steven Johnson as well. More assists for Aberdeen came via Patrick Steinhauser and Jordan Heller, who each chipped in one.

Blake Cates rejected 35 shots on goal for Coulee Region. The Chill incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Marcus Zelzer took the loss and made 16 saves before being replaced by Paige Skoog who made 23 saves. The Wings incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
