Brookings outlasts Bismarck, 4-3

The Brookings Blizzard and the Bismarck Bobcats were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Brookings made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-3.

No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Eric Brenk at 19:27 of the third period.

Brenk had a great game for the Blizzard, netting two goals.

The 31 shots that Brookings put on net surpassed the Blizzard's average of 25.0 shots per game this season.

Brookings additionally got points from Justin Moody, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Brookings also got a goal from Brandon Anderson as well. Other players who recorded assists for Brookings were Evan Hesse, who had two and Jordan Stejskal, Ruslan Manserov, Drew Brevig, and Jeff Flicker, who contributed one a piece.

Bismarck's offense rang up 36 shots on Brookings' net.

The Bobcats were led by Adam Knochenmus, who racked up one goal and two assists. Knochenmus scored 6:23 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Bismarck. Levi Blom provided the assist. Bob Kinne also scored for Bismarck. In addition, Bismarck received assists from Patrick Moore, who had two.

Drew Weigman rejected 33 shots on goal for the Blizzard. Brookings incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Bryan Nies recorded 27 saves for Bismarck. The Bobcats incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
