Bismarck falls to Wenatchee in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Dylan Abood gave the Wenatchee Wild a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Bismarck Bobcats when he scored 35 seconds into the extra period.

Wenatchee's penalty kill excelled, as the Wild gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

Wenatchee was sparked by Abood, who grabbed one goal.

The Wild's offense was clicking better than usual and put 30 shots on goal during the game, better than the 24.7 shots per game they average. Wenatchee's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. The Wild could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 42 minutes in penalties during the game.

Wenatchee additionally got points from Joshua Hartley, who also had one goal and one assist and Jono Davis, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Wenatchee came via Brian Williams, who had two and Dillon Eichstadt and Max McHugh, who contributed one a piece.

By firing 28 shots on goal, Bismarck exceeded the 25.3 shots it averages per game this year. The Bobcats' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Bismarck finished with 22 penalty minutes.

The Bobcats were helped by Shane Omdahl, who racked up one goal. Omdahl scored on the power play 12:29 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Bismarck. Bismarck had gained a power play chance when Tyler Bruneteau was whistled for checking from behind. Levi Blom provided the assist. Mike Dockry also scored for Bismarck. In addition, Bismarck received assists from Nate Repensky and Bob Kinne, who each chipped in one.

Robert Nichols made 26 saves for Wenatchee on 28 shots. The Wild registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Aaron Nelson rejected 27 shots on goal for the Bobcats.
