Kenai River falls to Corpus Christi after surprising comeback

The Corpus Christi IceRays climbed out of a two-goal hole to beat the Kenai River Brown Bears, 3-2.

Corpus Christi never led in the game until netting the game winner. The IceRays trailed 2-0 after a goal by Kenai River's Albin Karlsson at 19:07 in the first period. Corpus Christi knotted things up at 2-2 on a goal by Michael Economos at 8:32 in the second period. The IceRays netted the game winner at 17:39 in the third period on a goal by Economos.

Economos had a great game for Corpus Christi, netting two goals.

The IceRays' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Kenai River power plays.

Corpus Christi also got points from Perry DArrisso, who also finished with one goal and one assist. In addition, Corpus Christi received assists from AJ Jarosz, Jonathan Grebosky, Ryan Chiasson, and Joe Ginley, who contributed one a piece.

The Brown Bears put 49 shots on net during the contest, more than the 28.4 they average per game.

Conor Deal also scored for Kenai River. Other players who recorded assists for Kenai River were Carson Vance, Jake Bushey, and Zack Zulkanycz, who each chipped in one.

Hayden Stewart made 47 saves for Corpus Christi on 49 shots. The IceRays incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Gustaf Johansson recorded 24 saves for Kenai River. The Brown Bears incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
