Jamestown holds on for 3-2 win against Michigan

The Jamestown Ironmen survived a determined comeback attempt by the Michigan Warriors on the way to a 3-2 win.

A goal by Tyler Dunagan put Jamestown up 3-1 in the second period, but Michigan pulled to within one on Connor Lyons' tally 18:37 into the third period.

The Ironmen were sparked by Dunagan, who finished with one goal. Dunagan scored 17:17 into the second period to make the score Jamestown. Ross Pavek assisted on the tally.

Jamestown also got points from Ryan Urso, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Dylan Zink also scored for Jamestown. In addition, Jamestown received assists from Payden Mielke, Brett Szajner, Matt Lanzillotti, and Evan Ritt, who contributed one a piece.

The Warriors put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Jamestown to score on any of its three power plays.

More assists for Michigan came via Corey Schueneman, Jake Faiella, Martin Gruse, and Brad Pizzey, who each chipped in one.

The Ironmen's Tim Shaughnessy stopped 21 shots out of the 23 that he faced. Jamestown incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Dillion Kelley rejected 23 shots on goal for Michigan. The Warriors incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
