Bismarck beats Fresno 3-2 after comeback scare

The Bismarck Bobcats survived a determined comeback attempt by the Fresno Monsters on the way to a 3-2 win.

A goal by Shane Omdahl put Bismarck up 3-1 in the second period, but Fresno pulled to within one on Jordan Haskell's tally 4:33 into the third period.

The Bobcats were paced by Omdahl, who had one goal and one assist. Omdahl scored 18:45 into the second period to make the score Bismarck. Patrick Moore provided the assist.

With 38 shots on target during the contest, Bismarck exceeded the 26.1 shots it averages per game this year.

Bismarck additionally got points from Adam Knochenmus, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Mike Dockry also scored for Bismarck. Other players who recorded assists for Bismarck were Kevin Becker and Joe Giordano, who each chipped in one.

The Monsters stifled the Bobcats' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Fresno was led by Trevor Husch, who registered one goal and one assist. Husch scored 11:37 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Mark Bittner picked up the assist. In addition, Fresno received assists from Karl Andersen, who had one.

Aaron Nelson recorded 17 saves for Bismarck. The Bobcats incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Monsters' Macauley Haight stopped 35 shots out of the 38 that he faced. Fresno incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
