The Amarillo Bulls used a sparkling performance by Paul Berrafato to take down the Texas Tornado, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Amarillo's 4-0 shutout victory. The Bulls pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 33 penalty minutes. Amarillo's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on eight Texas power plays. The Bulls put 36 shots on net during the contest, more than the 29.2 they average per game. Amarillo was helped by Hampus Gustafsson, who tallied one goal. Gustafsson scored 12:25 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Amarillo. Mike Davis picked up the assist. Amarillo additionally got points from Omar Mullan, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Amarillo also got a goal from James LaDouce as well. Other players who recorded assists for Amarillo were Tyler Deresky, Carter Penzien, Brady Ferguson, TJ Sarcona, Brandon Flood, and Matt Sieckhaus, who contributed one a piece. Texas was held below its usual level of production. The Tornado put an average of 3.7 pucks into the net per game. Texas was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 21 penalty minutes. The Tornado were led by Brett Heikkila, who took four shots. Berrafato recorded 30 saves for the Bulls. Amarillo registered one goal on seven power play opportunities. Hunter Leisner made 32 saves for Texas on 36 shots.
