Texas rides Leisner to victory over Wichita Falls, 4-1

A stellar performance between the pipes by Hunter Leisner helped the Texas Tornado defeat the Wichita Falls Wildcats, 4-1.

Texas was led by Mitchell McPherson, who grabbed one goal. McPherson scored 10:03 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Texas. Leo Lumm assisted on the tally.

The Tornado's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Wichita Falls power plays.

Texas also got a goal from Michael Hoy as well. In addition, Texas received assists from Jackson Leef, Nick Neville, Brad Pung, Brett Heikkila, and Justin Greenberg, who each chipped in one.

Wichita Falls' offense was clicking better than usual and put 32 shots on goal during the game, better than the 27.0 shots per game it averages.

The Wildcats were led by Salminen Sami, who scored the team's only goal. Sami scored 4:17 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Colin Staub provided the assist.

Texas' Leisner stopped 31 shots out of the 32 that he faced. The Tornado incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Evan Cowley rejected 25 shots on goal for Wichita Falls. The Wildcats incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
