Corpus Christi rips Wichita Falls, 7-2

The Corpus Christi IceRays were firing on all cylinders against the Wichita Falls Wildcats, and when the final buzzer sounded IceRays emerged with a 7-2 win.

Emil Romig had one goal and two assists to lead Corpus Christi. Romig scored 28 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Corpus Christi. Rudy Sulmonde provided the assist.

The IceRays' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Wichita Falls power plays. Corpus Christi outdid its season average for goals scored. The IceRays average 3.0 goals per game. By firing 38 shots on goal, Corpus Christi exceeded the 28.1 shots it averages per game this year.

Corpus Christi additionally got points from Perry DArrisso, who also grabbed two goals and one assist and Eric Purcell, who also had one goal and one assist. Phil Pietroniro also scored for Corpus Christi. Other players who recorded assists for Corpus Christi were Tommy Telesca, John Roisum, Ian McGilvrey, Michael Economos, Andrew Paras, Wayland Williams, and Brandon Berkley, who contributed one a piece.

Wichita Falls' offense rang up 34 shots on the IceRays' net.

Ben Myers rejected 32 shots on goal for Corpus Christi. The IceRays totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. Evan Cowley made 31 saves for the Wildcats on 38 shots. Wichita Falls ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major.
