Amarillo's Davis deadly on offense in 6-1 win against Odessa

The Amarillo Bulls relied on the scoring touch of Mike Davis, who netted two goals, to beat the Odessa Jackalopes, 6-1.

Davis found the back of the net 14:52 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Amarillo and again while 1:35 into the second to make the score 3-1 Amarillo.

Amarillo pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 26 penalty minutes.

The Bulls stifled Odessa's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. With 43 shots on target during the contest, Amarillo exceeded the 33.4 shots it averages per game this year.

Amarillo additionally got points from TJ Sarcona, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Matt Sieckhaus, who also had one goal and one assist. Amarillo also got a goal from Tyler Deresky as well. More assists for Amarillo came via John Rey, Geoff Fortman, and TJ Sherman, who each chipped in one and Omar Mullan and Hampus Gustafsson, who contributed two a piece.

The Jackalopes did not challenge the opposing netminder, totaling only 13 shots on net to force 12 saves. The shot total fell below Odessa's season average of 16.7 shots per game.

The Jackalopes were led by Tyler Cayemberg, who scored the team's only goal. Cayemberg scored 4:51 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Odessa. Mason Wyman provided the assist.

Paul Berrafato recorded 12 saves for the Bulls. Amarillo registered zero goals on one power play opportunities. Jacob Theut made 37 saves for Odessa on 43 shots. The Jackalopes incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
