Amarillo downs Odessa, 5-2Amarillo Thu, Oct 11, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
TJ Sarcona registered one point to lead the Amarillo Bulls to a 5-2 victory over the Odessa Jackalopes. By firing 45 shots on goal, Amarillo exceeded the 32.8 shots it averages per game this year. Amarillo also got a goal from Gage Christianson as well. More assists for Amarillo came via Collin Delia, John Rey, Conor ONeil, Ryan Cole, Mike Davis, and TJ Sherman, who contributed one a piece and Garret Peterson and Matt Sieckhaus, who each chipped in two. Odessa barely challenged the opposing goaltender, finishing with only 12 shots on target to force 10 saves. The shot total fell below the Jackalopes' season average of 18.5 shots per game. Odessa excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Jackalopes were helped by Ryan Doucet, who had one goal and one assist. Doucet scored 13:44 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Amarillo. Jalen Krogman assisted on the tally. Lawrence Cornellier also scored for Odessa. In addition, Odessa received assists from Tyler Minx, who had one. Delia rejected 10 shots on goal for the Bulls. Amarillo incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Andrew Pikul recorded 40 saves for Odessa. The Jackalopes incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
