Jacob McDowell grabbed one point to lead the Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings to a 6-2 victory over the Michigan Warriors. The 40 shots that Kalamazoo put on net surpassed the Jr. K-Wings' average of 27.2 shots per game this season. Kalamazoo additionally got points from Taylor Burden, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Kyle Gattelaro, who also had one goal and one assist, Christian George, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, and Luc Boby, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Trevor Boyd also scored for Kalamazoo. Other players who recorded assists for Kalamazoo were Patrick Spellacy, Jesse Junttila, and Nolan Culver, who each chipped in one and Robbie Payne and Danny Hamburg, who contributed two a piece. Michigan stifled Kalamazoo's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Warriors were below their usual level of shot production, taking 15 shots compared to the 20.9 Michigan averages. The Warriors were helped by Connor Lyons, who finished with one goal. Lyons scored 4:39 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Jake Hopfner picked up the assist. Michigan also got a goal from Corey Schueneman as well. In addition, Michigan received assists from Luke Fiegl, who had one. The Jr. K-Wings' Nicholas Stuart stopped 13 shots out of the 15 that he faced. Kalamazoo incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Trevor Gorsuch took the loss and made 32 saves before being replaced by Michael Pesendorfer who made two saves. Michigan incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
