Port Huron boosted by Milosek's play in net, beats Kalamazoo 5-1

A stellar performance between the pipes by Max Milosek helped the Port Huron Fighting Falcons defeat the Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings, 5-1.

Port Huron was sparked by Zach Badalamenti, who had one goal and one assist. Badalamenti scored 15:14 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Port Huron. Nick Horne picked up the assist.

The Fighting Falcons kept Kalamazoo's goalie busy throughout the game, and Alex Okicki made 26 saves on 31 shots.

Port Huron also got points from Nicholas Sierra, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Port Huron also got a goal from Mitch Maloney as well. In addition, Port Huron received assists from Bobby Brown, Easton Powers, Cole Pierce, Bryan Yim, Rick DeRosa, and Mark Evan Auk, who each chipped in one.

The Jr. K-Wings' offense operated below they season average. Kalamazoo averages 3.8 goals per game. The Jr. K-Wings put 35 shots on net during the contest, more than the 27.5 they average per game. Kalamazoo was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 26 penalty minutes.

Max Milosek made 34 saves for Port Huron on 35 shots. The Fighting Falcons incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Jr. K-Wings registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
