Wenatchee's Kerr deadly on offense in 3-1 win against Bismarck

The Wenatchee Wild relied on the scoring touch of Chris Kerr, who netted two goals, to beat the Bismarck Bobcats, 3-1.

Kerr scored on the power play at 2:03 into the second period to make the score 1-1 and again while short handed 10:01 into the third to make the score 2-1 Wenatchee.

Wenatchee's Robert Nichols was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 31 saves and let only one puck past him. The solid play of Nichols will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.3.

The Wild's defensemen also contributed in the offensive zone and ended up with 15 shots between them. Wenatchee put 33 shots on net during the contest, more than the 24.1 it averages per game.

Jono Davis also scored for Wenatchee. More assists for Wenatchee came via Chris Diver, Jacob Barber, Lance Carney, and Max McHugh, who each chipped in one.

Bismarck's offense was clicking better than usual and put 32 shots on goal during the game, better than the 25.7 shots per game it averages.

The Bobcats were led by Joe Giordano, who scored the team's only goal. Giordano scored 9:39 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Bismarck. Adam Knochenmus picked up the assist.

The Wild incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors. Bryan Nies recorded 30 saves for Bismarck. The Bobcats incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
