Boby nets hat trick, leads Kalamazoo to 6-4 win over SooPullar Stadium Sat, Sep 22, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Luc Boby lifted the Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings to a 6-4 victory with a hat trick against the Soo Eagles. Boby notched his first tally 19:42 into the first period. He then added goals at 1:47 into the second and at 9:45 into the third.Kalamazoo surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Jr. K-Wings average 3.8 goals per game. Kalamazoo additionally got points from Josh Dangel, who also had one goal and four assists to lead the team in points and Nick Kovalchik, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Kalamazoo also got a goal from Taylor Burden as well. Other players who recorded assists for Kalamazoo were Matt Wurst, Nolan Culver, Kyle Gattelaro, and Trevor Boyd, who contributed one a piece. Soo's offense was clicking better than usual and put 34 shots on goal during the game, better than the 24.8 shots per game it averages. The Eagles were helped by Roman Pfennings, who registered one goal. Pfennings scored 7:27 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Soo. Eric Rivard picked up the assist. Alex Robert also scored for Soo. In addition, Soo received assists from Nathan Harris, Jake Peacock, Bobby Chapman, and Chris Waterstreet, who each chipped in one. Kalamazoo took out Nicholas Stuart after he had made 11 saves and installed Alex Okicki in goal, where he finished with 19 saves and the win. The Jr. K-Wings incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Zach Nagelvoort made 21 saves for Soo on 24 shots. The Eagles totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-1 on the power play.
