Kenai River rides Johansson to victory over Springfield, 5-1

The Kenai River Brown Bears relied on the sparkling performance of Gustaf Johansson in net to grab a 5-1 win against the Springfield Jr. Blues.

Kenai River was led by Lucas Kohls, who had one goal and one assist. Kohls scored on the power play 8:16 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Kenai River. The Brown Bears had gotten the advantage when Springfield's Roy Grandov was sent off for hooking. Jake Bushey picked up the assist.

Kenai River excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The 42 shots that the Brown Bears put on net surpassed Kenai River's average of 30.7 shots per game this season.

Kenai River additionally got points from Vincent Stefan, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Dylan Meier, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Albin Karlsson, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Kirk Van Arkel also scored for Kenai River. In addition, Kenai River received assists from Jacob Davidson, Josh Haverstrom, Matt Seidel, Ansel Duesenberg, and Zac Lazzaro, who contributed one a piece.
