Fairbanks rolls over Bismarck, 4-1

The Bismarck Bobcats had trouble finding ways to stop the Fairbanks Ice Dogs, which beat Bobcats, 4-1.

Fairbanks was led by Jacob Hetz, who finished with one goal. Hetz scored on the power play 2:36 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Fairbanks. The Ice Dogs had gained a power play chance when Jeremy OKeefe was whistled for charging. Patrick Newell provided the assist.

Fairbanks put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Bismarck to score on any of its three power plays.

Fairbanks additionally got points from Devin Loe, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Logan Wendling also scored for Fairbanks. More assists for Fairbanks came via Jacob Weisman, who had two and Doug Rose and Curran Klein, who each chipped in one.

The Bobcats failed to reach their usual level of shot production, putting 16 pucks on goal after averaging 21.8 shots per game this season.

Bismarck was led by Sam Coborn, who scored the team's only goal. Coborn scored 6:41 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Fairbanks.

The Ice Dogs' Steve Perry stopped 15 shots out of the 16 that he faced. Fairbanks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Bryan Nies recorded 22 saves for the Bobcats. Bismarck incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
