Janesville survives Minot comeback, wins 5-3

The Minot Minotauros tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Janesville Jets held on for a 5-3 victory.

A goal by Jason Ford put Janesville up 5-2 in the third period, but Minot pulled to within two on Denis Dalidovich's tally 19:52 into the third period.

Ford was all over the ice for the Jets, as he registered two goals in the win.

Janesville's offense was clicking better than usual and put 22 shots on goal during the game, better than the 16.9 shots per game it averages. The Jets found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, Janesville averages 2.5 goals per contest. The Jets could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 28 minutes in penalties during the game.

Janesville additionally got points from Austin Vieth, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Eric Carlson, who also had one goal and one assist. Kyle Halladay also scored for Janesville. Other players who recorded assists for Janesville were Travis Hill, who had two and Matthieu Audet and Matt Salituro, who contributed one a piece.

The the Minotauros penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled 11 minors and one major for 37 minutes in penalty time.
