Lansing Capitals 18U squeaks by Pursuit of Excellence 18U, 4-2

Lansing Capitals 18U gutted out a close 4-2 win against Pursuit of Excellence 18U.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Conor Durgan's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Durgan had a great game for Lansing Capitals 18U, netting two goals.

Lansing Capitals 18U also got a goal from Ian Wiljanen as well. More assists for Lansing Capitals 18U came via Camren Jorgensen, who had two and Tyler Bishop, Mitchell Shier, Ryan Polin, Zachary Roberts, and Kyle Keeder, who contributed one a piece.

Pursuit of Excellence 18U stifled Lansing Capitals 18U's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Pursuit of Excellence 18U was led by Nick Kovacik, who racked up one goal and one assist. Kovacik scored on the power play 1:40 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Pursuit of Excellence 18U. Pursuit of Excellence 18U had gotten the advantage when Lansing Capitals 18U's Brad Reitter was sent off for holding. Tyson Helgesen assisted on the tally. Jordan Kawaguchi also scored for Pursuit of Excellence 18U. In addition, Pursuit of Excellence 18U received assists from Justin Lange and Brandon Duhaime, who each chipped in one.

Bryce Goulah rejected 17 shots on goal for Lansing Capitals 18U. Lansing Capitals 18U incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Cameron Smith recorded 19 saves for Pursuit of Excellence 18U. Pursuit of Excellence 18U incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
