St. Louis Selects 18U outlasts Texas Tornado 18U, 5-3

St. Louis Selects 18U and Texas Tornado 18U were evenly matched throughout their contest, but St. Louis Selects 18U made the most of its opportunities and won, 5-3.

St. Louis Selects 18U gained the winning advantage on a goal by John Patterson 5:27 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer.

Trevor Thornton was all over the ice for St. Louis Selects 18U, as he tallied two goals and two assists in the win. Thornton scored the first of his two goals at 6:45 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Louis Selects 18U. Patterson provided the assist. Thornton's next tally made the score 2-2 with 15:41 left in the second period. Joey Lupo picked up the assist.
