Indiana Jr. Ice 18U vanquishes St. Louis Selects 18U in shootout, 3-2

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Indiana Jr. Ice 18U defeated St. Louis Selects 18U in a shootout 3-2.

The shootout lasted for 10 attempts between the teams. St. Louis Selects 18U got shootout goals from Trevor Thornton and Mitchell Miller. Indiana Jr. Ice 18U also got shootout goals from Alex Huettl and Razmuz Waxin-Engback.

Indiana Jr. Ice 18U overcame a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. Indiana Jr. Ice 18U fell behind 2-1 after a goal by St. Louis Selects 18U's Alex Klaesner at 16:48 in the third period. Indiana Jr. Ice 18U tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Joe Chitwood at 18:23 in the third period.

Indiana Jr. Ice 18U put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow St. Louis Selects 18U to score on any of its three power plays. Indiana Jr. Ice 18U kept St. Louis Selects 18U's goalie busy throughout the game, and Bradley Amato made 39 saves on 42 shots.

Indiana Jr. Ice 18U also got points from Ryan Murphy, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Indiana Jr. Ice 18U came via Evan Okeley, Waxin-Engback, and Matt Corbett, who each chipped in one.

St. Louis Selects 18U's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Indiana Jr. Ice 18U power plays.

St. Louis Selects 18U was led by John Patterson, who finished with one goal and one assist. Patterson scored 18:54 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Joey Lupo picked up the assist. Other players who recorded assists for St. Louis Selects 18U were Michael Howard, who had one.

Chase Munroe made 24 saves for Indiana Jr. Ice 18U on 26 shots. Indiana Jr. Ice 18U incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. St. Louis Selects 18U incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
