Early goals doom Utah Regulators 18U, falls to Pikes Peak Miners 18U, 5-2

A four-goal first period deficit cost Utah Regulators 18U, which could not recover and fell to Pikes Peak Miners 18U, 5-2.

Pikes Peak Miners 18U was led by Connor Hutchins, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Hutchins scored 8:39 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Pikes Peak Miners 18U. Will Matheson provided the assist.

Pikes Peak Miners 18U stifled Utah Regulators 18U's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Pikes Peak Miners 18U forced Utah Regulators 18U goalie Peter Gormley to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

Luc Gradisar also scored for Pikes Peak Miners 18U. In addition, Pikes Peak Miners 18U received assists from Tristan de Swardt and Tyler Hanson, who each chipped in one.
