Huge game by Dierl boosts Texas Tornado 18U over Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks 18U, 5-1

Behind a great game by Tommy Dierl, who had two goals and one assist, Texas Tornado 18U defeated Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks 18U, 5-1.

Dierl scored at 9:28 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Texas Tornado 18U and again while on the power play 1:38 into the third to make the score 3-0 Texas Tornado 18U.

Texas Tornado 18U forced Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks 18U goalie Liam Conway to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots.

Texas Tornado 18U also had goals scored by Connor Horowitz, who had one and Austin Murray, who had two. In addition, Texas Tornado 18U received assists from Chris Beck, who had two and Michael Ritter and Nick Johnson, who contributed one a piece.

Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks 18U's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks 18U finished with 24 penalty minutes.

Troy LoBue recorded 14 saves for Texas Tornado 18U. Texas Tornado 18U incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Liam Conway made 27 saves for Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks 18U on 32 shots. Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks 18U registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
