Pittsburgh Viper Stars 16U vanquishes New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U in shootout, 3-2

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Pittsburgh Viper Stars 16U defeated New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U in a shootout 3-2.

The two teams needed seven turns to complete the shootout. Pittsburgh Viper Stars 16U's other shootout goal was scored by Anthony Franks.

Franks had a great game for Pittsburgh Viper Stars 16U, netting two goals. Franks scored at 7:47 into the third period to make the score 1-1 and again while on the power play 10:30 into the third to make the score 2-1 Pittsburgh Viper Stars 16U.

Pittsburgh Viper Stars 16U stifled New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Other players who recorded assists for Pittsburgh Viper Stars 16U were Carter Ekberg, who had one and Mario Damasceno, who had two.

New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U was helped by Michael Gelatt, who registered one goal. Gelatt scored 16:14 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Timothy Gelatt provided the assist. New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U also got points from Anthony Cusanelli, who also tallied one goal and one assist. More assists for New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U came via Erik Layton, who had one.
