Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U's McGrew deadly on offense in 5-2 win against St. Louis Selects 16U

Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U relied on the scoring touch of Matthew McGrew, who netted two goals, to beat St. Louis Selects 16U, 5-2.

McGrew scored at 13:04 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U and again while 8:16 into the third to make the score 4-2 Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U.

Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U's penalty kill excelled, as Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U kept St. Louis Selects 16U's goalie busy throughout the game, and Zach Young made 47 saves on 52 shots.

Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U additionally got points from Elijiah Barriga, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, Evan Nyhus, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Shane McMahan, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. In addition, Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U received assists from David Giroux, who had one and Zachary Wolivar, who had two.

St. Louis Selects 16U put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U to score on any of its six power plays.
