New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U uses shootout to best Indiana Jr. Ice 16U, 4-3

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U defeated Indiana Jr. Ice 16U in a shootout 4-3.

The shootout featured seven attempts between both teams. In addition to the clincher, New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U got a shootout goal from Ryan Walker.

New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U overcame a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U fell behind 3-0 after a goal by Indiana Jr. Ice 16U's Brady Kiplinger at 3:42 in the second period. New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U tied things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Anthony Cusanelli at 5:30 in the third period.

New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U kept Indiana Jr. Ice 16U's goalie busy throughout the game, and Darin Fox made 41 saves on 45 shots.

New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U was led by Christopher Wuestneck, who grabbed two goals. Wuestneck scored the first of his two goals at 11:37 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Indiana Jr. Ice 16U. Charles Singerhouse provided the assist. Wuestneck's next tally made the score 3-2 Indiana Jr. Ice 16U with 17:36 left in the third period. Timothy Gelatt assisted on the tally. More assists for New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U came via Greg Malafonte, who had one.

New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U was unable to stop Indiana Jr. Ice 16U from sending pucks towards the net, and Indiana Jr. Ice 16U eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. Indiana Jr. Ice 16U struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 14 penalty minutes for six opposing power plays.

Indiana Jr. Ice 16U was helped by Shawn Moulis, who racked up one goal. Moulis scored 12:08 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Indiana Jr. Ice 16U. Andrew Augustine provided the assist. Indiana Jr. Ice 16U also got points from Ryan MacKellar, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Indiana Jr. Ice 16U were Triston Theriot and Christian French, who each chipped in one.

Michael Cosentino rejected 28 shots on goal for New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U. New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Indiana Jr. Ice 16U registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
