Omaha AAA Lancers 16U vanquishes New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U in shootout, 5-4

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Omaha AAA Lancers 16U defeated New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U in a shootout 5-4.

The shootout featured eight attempts between both teams.

Ethan Price and Kyle Patava provided the spark for Omaha AAA Lancers 16U, combining for two goals and four assists. Price registered two goals and Patava also added zero goals and four assists.

Omaha AAA Lancers 16U excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Omaha AAA Lancers 16U gave up more goals than its normal season average. Omaha AAA Lancers 16U averages 0.9 goals allowed per game.

Omaha AAA Lancers 16U also got points from Jackson Bond, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Mark Whitney, who also tallied one goal and one assist. More assists for Omaha AAA Lancers 16U came via Patrick Grasso and Brennan Menell, who each chipped in one.

The defensemen of New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U were also effective in Omaha AAA Lancers 16U's zone, and came away with two goals. New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 36 minutes in penalties during the game.

New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U was led by Anthony Cusanelli, who grabbed two goals. Cusanelli scored the first of his two goals at 3:01 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Cusanelli's next tally made the score 2-1 New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U with 16:08 left in the second period. Scott Huber provided the assist. New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U additionally got points from Timothy Gelatt, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U also got a goal from Ryan Price as well. In addition, New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U received assists from Michael Gelatt, who had one.

Daniel Mumaugh made 18 saves for Omaha AAA Lancers 16U on 22 shots. Omaha AAA Lancers 16U incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. New Jersey Jr. Titans 16U's Michael Cernero stopped 20 shots out of the 24 that he faced.
