Toronto Lakeshore blows out Milton, 5-1

The Milton Icehawks had trouble finding ways to stop the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots, which beat Icehawks, 5-1.

Toronto Lakeshore's Joseph Pianta was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 26 saves and let only one puck past him. Pianta managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.18 prior to the game.

The Patriots pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 34 penalty minutes.

Toronto Lakeshore kept Milton's goalie busy throughout the game, and Daniel Plater made 29 saves on 34 shots.

The Patriots were led by Dylan Carter, who tallied one goal and one assist. Carter scored on the power play 4:36 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Toronto Lakeshore. Kyle Dutra picked up the assist. Toronto Lakeshore also got points from Doug Bonar, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Michael Prapavessis, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Toronto Lakeshore also got a goal from Daniel Tedesco as well. Other players who recorded assists for Toronto Lakeshore were Alex D Oliveira, who had two and Tyler Currie, Tyler Enns, Kevin Shier, and Matt McLeod, who contributed one a piece.

The Icehawks did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Milton puts an average of 3.7 pucks into the net per game. The Icehawks could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 34 minutes in penalties during the game.

Milton was led by Tye Campbell, who scored the team's only goal. Campbell scored on the power play 17:48 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Toronto Lakeshore. The Icehawks had gained a power play chance when McLeod was whistled for slashing. Brad Kobryn provided the assist.

Toronto Lakeshore registered four goals on nine power play opportunities. Milton registered one goal on six power play opportunities.
