Buffalo blows out Orangeville, 8-2

The Buffalo Jr. Sabres were firing on all cylinders against the Orangeville Flyers, and when the final buzzer sounded Jr. Sabres emerged with an 8-2 win.

Buffalo's Parker Gahagen was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 30 saves and let only one puck past him. The solid play of Gahagen will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.55.

Pat Egan was all over the ice for the Jr. Sabres, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Egan scored on the power play 13:05 into the second period to make the score 5-0 Buffalo. Buffalo had taken the advantage when Orangeville's Angelpooulos Peter got sent off for unsportsmanlike conduct. Sean Federow picked up the assist.

The Jr. Sabres made the Flyers' goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, totaling 40 shots and forcing 32 saves. Bo Bessette made 24 stops and Taylor Welsh made eight. Buffalo outdid its season average for goals scored. The Jr. Sabres have scored at the pace of 4.5 goals per game during the current campaign. The defensemen of Buffalo were also effective in Orangeville's zone, and came away with two goals.

Buffalo also got points from Tyler Gjurich, who also had one goal and two assists, Max Mikowski, who also registered one goal and one assist, Dylan Howatt, who also tallied one goal and two assists, and Federow, who also had one goal and one assist. Buffalo also got a goal from Nick Scamurra as well. In addition, Buffalo received assists from Tony DeVito, Ryan Schmelzer, David Seward, Ryall Ledyard, and Alex Dagnal, who contributed one a piece.

The Flyers forced the Jr. Sabres goalie Gahagen to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

Keegan Ackerland also scored for Orangeville. Other players who recorded assists for Orangeville were James Pitsadiotis, who had one.

Buffalo incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Orangeville incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
