Milton survives Orangeville comeback, wins 6-5Alder St. Recreation Centre Sat, Feb 16, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Milton Icehawks survived a determined comeback attempt by the Orangeville Flyers on the way to a 6-5 win. Milton took a 6-4 lead during the second period, only to have Orangeville storm back on a Brandon Gaudette goal 3:21 into the third period to pull to one goal down. Tye Campbell was all over the ice for the Icehawks, as he tallied one goal and three assists in the win. Campbell scored 13:02 into the second period to make the score Milton. Jonathon Buttitta provided the assist. Milton kept the Flyers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Taylor Welsh made 37 saves on 43 shots. The Icehawks found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, Milton averages 3.8 goals per contest. Milton also got points from Michael Capicotto, who also finished with one goal and two assists and Justin Devincentis, who also had one goal and one assist. Milton also had goals scored by Brad Kobryn, who had one and Ryan Burns, who had two. In addition, Milton received assists from Shane Bennett and Daniel Poutscongas, who contributed two a piece. Orangeville forced the Icehawks goalie Justin Urquhart to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. Orangeville additionally got points from Angelpooulos Peter, who also registered one goal and one assist and Keegan Ackerland, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Kyle Thacker also scored for Orangeville. More assists for Orangeville came via Geoffrey Bagnall, who had two and Kyle Wood, Mathew Thompson, Thomas Tsicos, and Emmerson Small, who each chipped in one. Justin Urquhart made 35 saves for Milton on 40 shots. The Icehawks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Flyers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
