Buffalo outlasts Toronto, 4-3

The Buffalo Jr. Sabres gutted out a close 4-3 win against the Toronto Junior Canadiens.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Tyler Gjurich's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Gjurich was all over the ice for Buffalo, as he racked up two goals in the win.

The Jr. Sabres took advantage of Toronto's penalties, tallying two goals off of three power play opportunities.

Buffalo additionally got points from Pat Egan, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Buffalo also got a goal from Sean Federow as well. Other players who recorded assists for Buffalo were Ryan Schmelzer, who had two and Ben Casale, David Seward, Dylan Howatt, and Nolan Sheeran, who each chipped in one.

The Junior Canadiens were helped by Robert Cammalleri, who grabbed one goal. Cammalleri scored 15:31 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Toronto. Luca Doctor picked up the assist. Danny Liscio also scored for Toronto. In addition, Toronto received assists from Gregory Di Tomaso, Nicholas Jarzabek, Travis Hill, Anthony Repaci, and Joseph Santino, who contributed one a piece.

Parker Gahagen recorded 19 saves for Buffalo. The Jr. Sabres incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Toronto's Denny Dubblestyne stopped 25 shots out of the 29 that he faced. The Junior Canadiens incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
