Toronto vanquishes Milton in shootout, 5-4 (2-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Toronto Junior Canadiens defeated the Milton Icehawks in a shootout 5-4 (2-1 SO).

The shootout lasted for five attempts between the teams. Milton got a shootout goal from Daniel Holt. Toronto also got a shootout goal from Anthony Repaci.

The Junior Canadiens were led by Repaci, who tallied one goal and one assist. Repaci scored on the power play 12:39 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Toronto. Toronto had taken the advantage when the Icehawks' Patrick Arnold got sent off for roughing. Aaron Thow picked up the assist.

In a losing effort, Milton was sparked by Shane Bennett, who grabbed two goals. Bennett scored the first of his two goals at 9:43 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Milton. Ryan Burns provided the assist. Bennett's next tally made the score 2-2 with 17:59 left in the third period. Holt picked up the assist.

The Junior Canadiens' offense rang up 45 shots on the Icehawks' net.

Toronto additionally got points from Travis Hill, who also had one goal and one assist. Toronto also got a goal from Adam Logozzo as well. More assists for Toronto came via Joseph Santino, who had two and Matthew Nosella, Gregory Di Tomaso, and Jordan Carvalho, who each chipped in one.

Milton could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 30 minutes in penalties during the game.

Jonathon Buttitta also scored for Milton. In addition, Milton received assists from Austin Kosack, who had one and Justin Devincentis, who had two.

Nathan Colitto rejected 23 shots on goal for Toronto. The Junior Canadiens incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Icehawks' Daniel Plater stopped 40 shots out of the 44 that he faced. Milton registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
