Trenton squeaks by Whitby, 3-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Trenton Golden Hawks escaped with a 3-2 victory over the Whitby Fury.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Shawn Hulshof secured the win for Trenton with a goal in the third period.

The Golden Hawks were led by Hulshof, who tallied one goal. Hulshof scored 15:04 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Trenton. Alex Leader provided the assist.

Trenton kept Whitby's goalie busy throughout the game, and Tyler Feaver made 30 saves on 33 shots.

Trenton also got a goal from Loren Ulett as well. In addition, Trenton received assists from Mike Nedoszytko, Dillon Warner, and Truman Landowski, who contributed one a piece.

The Fury managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Whitby wound up below its season average of 15.0 penalty minutes per game.

The Fury were helped by Taylor Best, who grabbed one goal. Best scored 13:14 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Connor Laird assisted on the tally. Greg Milner also scored for Whitby. More assists for Whitby came via Spencer MacCormack, Jonathan OHara, and Ryan Logan, who each chipped in one.

Andrew Winsor rejected 22 shots on goal for the Golden Hawks. Trenton incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Whitby registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
