Orangeville squeaks by St. Michaels, 3-2

The game between the Orangeville Flyers and the St. Michaels Buzzers was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Orangeville emerged with a 3-2 win.

No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Nicholas Geiser at 19:38 of the second period.

The Flyers' penalty kill excelled, as Orangeville gave up zero goals despite allowing eight power plays.

The Flyers were led by Geiser, who tallied one goal.

Orangeville stifled St. Michaels' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Angelpooulos Peter also scored for Orangeville. In addition, Orangeville received assists from Thomas Tsicos, who had two and Geoffrey Bagnall and Jason Abbott, who contributed one a piece.

The Buzzers did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. St. Michaels averages 4.3 goals per game. The Buzzers kept the Flyers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Bo Bessette made 35 saves on 37 shots.

St. Michaels was helped by Matt Galati, who had one goal. Galati scored 2:33 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Michaels. Jordan Merante picked up the assist. St. Michaels also got a goal from Matt Buckles as well. Other players who recorded assists for St. Michaels were Ian Edmondson, Shane Conacher, and Patrick McCarron, who each chipped in one.

Orangeville incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Adrian Ignagni made 20 saves for the Buzzers on 23 shots. St. Michaels incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
