Georgetown outlasts Buffalo, 4-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Georgetown Raiders escaped with a 4-2 victory over the Buffalo Jr. Sabres.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Tyler MacPherson at 16:14 of the second period.

Georgetown was sparked by Nick Perruccio, who racked up one goal. Perruccio scored 17:08 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Georgetown. Jacob Bauchman assisted on the tally.

The Raiders' offense rang up 34 shots on Buffalo's net. Georgetown could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 36 minutes in penalties during the game.

Georgetown also got points from Drake Hart, who also had one goal and one assist and Bauchman, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Georgetown were John Adams, who had two and Liam Clare, Brendan Woods, Alex Botten, and Robbie Murden, who each chipped in one.

The Jr. Sabres stifled the Raiders' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Buffalo was held below its usual level of production. The Jr. Sabres average 4.2 goals per game. Buffalo found itself short handed often, totaling 36 penalty minutes and allowing four power plays.

The Jr. Sabres were helped by Pat Egan, who grabbed one goal. Egan scored 7:01 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Nathan Pelligra provided the assist. Buffalo also got a goal from Nick Scamurra as well. In addition, Buffalo received assists from Tyler Gjurich, Ryan Schmelzer, and Josh Kielich, who contributed one a piece.

Gabe Grunwald recorded 21 saves for Georgetown. Parker Gahagen rejected 30 shots on goal for Buffalo. The Jr. Sabres registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Buffalo ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Gjurich was ejected from the game.
