Carpino's hat trick boosts North York over Hamilton, 6-3

John Carpino lifted the North York Rangers to a 6-3 victory with a hat trick against the Hamilton Red Wings.

Carpino's first goal came 58 seconds into the first period. He then added goals at 4:24 into the first and at 6:56 into the third.

Hamilton was unable to stop North York from sending pucks towards the net, and the Rangers eventually piled up 43 shots on goal.

North York also got points from Nicholas Geiser, who also had one goal and one assist. Ryan Kinsella also scored for North York. More assists for North York came via Corey Kalk, who had three and Power Brody, Fung Zachary, Liam Kerins, Dana Tenenbaum, and Scott Maguire, who contributed one a piece.

The Red Wings' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three North York power plays.

Hamilton was helped by Dylan Hutton, who racked up two goals and one assist. Hutton scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 3:21 into the second period to make the score 2-1 North York. The Red Wings earned a power play opportunity when Michael Florindo was put in the box for slashing. Adam Brady picked up the assist. Hutton's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 North York with 12:12 left in the second period. Brady provided the assist. Hamilton additionally got points from Luke Laidlaw, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Other players who recorded assists for Hamilton were Patrick APM Durgy, who had one.

Keogh Jacob made 22 saves for North York on 25 shots. The Rangers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Bret Gilmore rejected 37 shots on goal for Hamilton. The Red Wings incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
