Gjurich leads Buffalo over Milton, 8-0

Tyler Gjurich was all over the ice for the Buffalo Jr. Sabres, as he tallied two goals and one assist in Buffalo's 8-0 win over the Milton Icehawks.

Gjurich's tallies came at 17:20 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Buffalo and 8:37 into the second to make the score 6-0 Buffalo.

The Jr. Sabres put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Milton to score on any of its five power plays. Buffalo's defense was surprisingly good. The Jr. Sabres gives up 2.9 goals on average per game. Buffalo kept the Icehawks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Justin Urquhart made 40 saves on 48 shots. The Jr. Sabres found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Buffalo averages 4.2 goals per game.

Buffalo additionally got points from Ryan Schmelzer, who also tallied two goals and one assist and Ryall Ledyard, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Buffalo included Pat Egan, who had one and Nathan Pelligra, who had two. In addition, Buffalo received assists from Frank Hora(APM), who had three, Josh Kielich, Derek Patterson, Tim Kielich, and Alex Dagnal, who each chipped in one, and Ben Casale, Dylan Howatt, and Nick Gullo, who contributed two a piece.

Milton did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Icehawks put an average of 4.0 pucks into the net per game.

Parker Gahagen rejected 23 shots on goal for the Jr. Sabres. Buffalo incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Milton incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
