North York falls to Buffalo in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The Buffalo Jr. Sabres' Nolan Sheeran scored 2:09 into overtime to beat the North York Rangers, 5-4 (OT).

Buffalo overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Jr. Sabres fell behind 2-0 after a goal by North York's Michael Giacometti at 12:40 in the first period. Buffalo tied things up at 4-4 on a goal by Taylor Pryce at 9:42 in the third period.

The Jr. Sabres' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three North York power plays.

Buffalo was helped by Tim Kielich, who registered two goals. Kielich scored the first of his two goals at 3:05 into the second period to make the score 2-1 North York. Alex Dagnal provided the assist. Kielich's next tally made the score 3-2 Buffalo with 6:25 left in the second period. Derek Patterson assisted on the tally. Tyler Gjurich also scored for Buffalo. Other players who recorded assists for Buffalo were Max Mikowski, David Seward, Dylan Howatt, and Sean Federow, who contributed one a piece.

The Rangers' offense rang up 41 shots on the Jr. Sabres' net.

North York additionally got points from Liam Kerins, who also had one goal and one assist and Giacometti, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, North York received assists from Patrick Piacentini, Fung Zachary, Patrick Simmonds, and John Carpino, who each chipped in one.

Parker Gahagen recorded 37 saves for Buffalo. The Jr. Sabres incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. For Buffalo, Dagnal was ejected from the game. Jason Pucciarelli made 24 saves for North York on 29 shots. The Rangers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
