Buffalo blows out Hamilton, 5-1

The Buffalo Jr. Sabres were firing on all cylinders against the Hamilton Red Wings, and when the final buzzer sounded Jr. Sabres emerged with a 5-1 win.

Buffalo was led by goalie Bobby Bloomfield, who finished with 30 saves while allowing one goal. Bloomfield certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.29 entering the contest.

The Jr. Sabres were paced by Brian Ruff, who tallied one goal. Ruff scored 10:07 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Buffalo. Dylan Howatt provided the assist.

Buffalo stifled Hamilton's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Jr. Sabres' offense rang up 41 shots on the Red Wings' net.

Buffalo additionally got points from Nathan Pelligra, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Buffalo also had goals scored by Ryall Ledyard, who had one and Tyler Gjurich, who had two. In addition, Buffalo received assists from Josh Kielich, Derek Patterson, and Pat Egan, who each chipped in one.

Hamilton put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Buffalo to score on any of its eight power plays. The Red Wings' offense rang up 31 shots on the Jr. Sabres' net.

Hamilton was led by Troy Crema, who scored the team's only goal. Crema scored 3:35 into the second period to make the score 1-1.

Buffalo incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Red Wings' Allen Avery stopped 36 shots out of the 41 that he faced. Hamilton incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
