The Buffalo Jr. Sabres used a sparkling performance by Parker Gahagen to take down the Oakville Blades, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Buffalo's 4-0 shutout victory. Ryall Ledyard had two goals to lead the Jr. Sabres to victory. Ledyard's tallies came on the power play at 13:36 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Buffalo and 15:26 into the third to make the score 4-0 Buffalo. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 6:36 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with three game misconducts. Buffalo racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 10 minors and two majors for 30 minutes in penalty time. The Jr. Sabres had been averaging 17.0 minutes in penalties per game. Buffalo made Blades' netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, racking up 35 shots and forcing 31 saves. Evan Buitenhuis made 22 stops and Mitchell Knight made nine. The Jr. Sabres put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Oakville to score on any of its six power plays. Buffalo's defensive play was more effective than usual against the Blades. The Jr. Sabres average 2.9 goals allowed per game. Tyler Gjurich also scored for Buffalo. More assists for Buffalo came via Brian Ruff, who had two and Tony DeVito, Ryan Schmelzer, Josh Kielich, Tim Kielich, Dylan Howatt, and Sean Federow, who each chipped in one. Oakville forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 12 minors and three majors for 49 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 17.0 minutes per game the Blades had been spending in the box. Oakville was held below its usual level of production. The Blades average 4.0 goals per game. Parker Gahagen made 27 saves for Buffalo on 27 shots. The Jr. Sabres registered two goals on 11 power play opportunities. Team's Max Mikowski and David Seward were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. For Oakville, Aidan Orbinski, Harrison Domagala, Vince Palermo, and Len Fabbri were ejected from the contest.
