Buffalo outlasts St. Michaels, 3-2

The game between the Buffalo Jr. Sabres and the St. Michaels Buzzers was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Buffalo emerged with a 3-2 win.

The Jr. Sabres gained the winning advantage on a goal by Tyler Gjurich 13:48 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

Buffalo was led by Gjurich, who finished with one goal.

St. Michaels was unable to stop the Jr. Sabres from sending pucks towards the net, and Buffalo eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

Buffalo also got points from Pat Egan, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Buffalo also got a goal from Dylan Howatt as well. More assists for Buffalo came via Ryan Kuhn, Derek Patterson, Max Mikowski, Nathan Pelligra, and Nolan Sheeran, who contributed one a piece.

The Buzzers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Buffalo power plays. St. Michaels could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Buzzers average 4.1 goals per game. St. Michaels kept the Jr. Sabres' goalie busy throughout the game, and Parker Gahagen made 32 saves on 34 shots.

The Buzzers were helped by Matt Buckles, who grabbed one goal. Buckles scored on the power play 1:48 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Michaels. St. Michaels had gotten the advantage when Buffalo's Kuhn was sent off for high sticking. Patrick McCarron picked up the assist. Stephen Pietrobon also scored for St. Michaels. In addition, St. Michaels received assists from Jared Walsh, Michael Neville, and Jake Evans, who each chipped in one.

The Jr. Sabres incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Adrian Ignagni rejected 32 shots on goal for the Buzzers. St. Michaels incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
