Corey Kalk scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and the North York Rangers held off the challenges of the Buffalo Jr. Sabres in a tough 4-2 win. A goal 19:43 into the the first period by Kalk proved to be the game winner, and powered North York to the victory Patrick Piacentini provided the assist.The Rangers' penalty kill excelled, as North York gave up one goal despite allowing eight power plays. The Rangers were led by Nicholas Geiser, who finished with one goal and one assist. Geiser scored 6:11 into the second period to make the score 3-1 North York. Liam Kerins picked up the assist. North York forced Buffalo goalie Parker Gahagen to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. North York additionally got points from Kalk, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Ryan Kinsella also scored for North York. In addition, North York received assists from Power Brody and Valadao Adam, who contributed one a piece. The Jr. Sabres stifled the Rangers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Buffalo was helped by Pat Egan, who had one goal.
