Toronto Lakeshore stifles Burlington's comeback, gains 4-2 victory

The Toronto Lakeshore Patriots, who led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by Toronto Lakeshore and clinched a 4-2 victory.

The Patriots led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Toronto Lakeshore's Daniel Tedesco's scored at 9:03 in the second period to put the Patriots up 3-0.

Wes Deme had two goals and two assists to lead Toronto Lakeshore. Deme scored the first of his two goals at 17 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Toronto Lakeshore. Tedesco assisted on the tally. Deme's next tally made the score 2-0 Toronto Lakeshore with 16:03 left in the second period. The Patriots had gained a power play chance when Shane Conacher was whistled for slashing. Mike Vallescuro picked up the assist.

The Burlington Cougars' power play was ineffective against Toronto Lakeshore's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Patriots excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Toronto Lakeshore forced Burlington goalie Alex Murray to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.

Toronto Lakeshore additionally got points from Tedesco, who also finished with one goal and three assists and Vallescuro, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. More assists for Toronto Lakeshore came via Tyler Currie, who had one.

The Cougars were helped by Luke Sinclair, who tallied one goal. Sinclair scored 4:23 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Toronto Lakeshore. Tyler VanKleef assisted on the tally. Other players who recorded assists for Burlington were Jeremy Gottzmann, who had one.

Joseph Pianta rejected 18 shots on goal for the Patriots. Toronto Lakeshore incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Murray recorded 35 saves for Burlington. The Cougars incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
