Trenton squeaks by Pickering, 4-3

The Trenton Golden Hawks gutted out a close 4-3 win against the Pickering Panthers.

Trenton gained the winning advantage on a goal by Josh Timpano 12:42 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

Pickering's power play was ineffective against the Golden Hawks' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

Trenton was led by Timpano, who racked up one goal.

The Golden Hawks' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Trenton also got points from Mike Nedoszytko, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Alex Leader, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Mackenzie Scott also scored for Trenton. More assists for Trenton came via Loren Ulett and Sammy Banga, who each chipped in one.

The Panthers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 44 minutes in penalties during the game.

Pickering was led by Dylan Hutton, who registered one goal and one assist. Hutton scored 3:54 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Robert Lepine picked up the assist. Pickering also got a goal from Cody Doiron as well. Other players who recorded assists for Pickering were Derek Sheppard, Cory Lauer, Jeff Heard, and Brodie Tutton, who contributed one a piece.

Trenton's Andrew Winsor stopped 24 shots out of the 27 that he faced. The Golden Hawks incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Spencer Bacon rejected 25 shots on goal for the Panthers.
