Buffalo vanquishes Oakville in shootout, 4-3 (2-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Buffalo Jr. Sabres defeated the Oakville Blades in a shootout 4-3 (2-1 SO).

The shootout featured six attempts between both teams. Oakville's shootout goal was scored by Jonah Renouf. Buffalo's other shootout goal was scored by Tyler Gjurich.

The Jr. Sabres overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Buffalo trailed 3-1 after a power play goal by the Blades' Nathan Renouf at 8:19 in the second period. The Jr. Sabres tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Nolan Sheeran at 19:30 in the third period.

Buffalo was led by Sheeran, who finished with one goal.

The Jr. Sabres kept Oakville's goalie busy throughout the game, and Evan Buitenhuis made 32 saves on 36 shots.

Sam Berg also scored for Buffalo. Other players who recorded assists for Buffalo were Darrin Trebes, Gjurich, Josh Kielich, Derek Patterson, and David Seward, who each chipped in one.

The Blades' offense rang up 32 shots on Buffalo's net.

Oakville also got a goal from Len Fabbri as well. More assists for Oakville came via Renouf, who had three and Patrick Chore, Stefan Leblanc, and Spencer Green, who contributed one a piece.

Parker Gahagen recorded 29 saves for the Jr. Sabres. Buffalo incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Oakville incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
