Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Pickering Panthers defeated the Newmarket Hurricanes in a shootout 4-3 (2-1 SO).

The Panthers overcame a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. Pickering was down 3-0 after a goal by the Hurricanes' Daniel Leavens at 4:28 in the second period. The Panthers tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Lepine at 19:36 in the third period.
