Trenton hangs on, beats Aurora 3-2

Truman Landowski scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and the Trenton Golden Hawks held off the challenges of the Aurora Tigers in a tough 3-2 win.

A goal 2:31 into the the first period by Landowski proved to be the game winner, and powered Trenton to the victory Robbie Hall assisted on the tally.

Josh Timpano had two goals to lead the Golden Hawks to victory. Timpano's tallies came at 3:05 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Trenton and 11:49 into the first to make the score 3-1 Trenton.

Trenton stifled Aurora's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Golden Hawks kept the Tigers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Brett Sinclair made 29 saves on 32 shots.

Other players who recorded assists for Trenton were Ryan Johnson, who had one and Jordan Minello and Sammy Banga, who contributed two a piece.

Aurora put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Trenton to score on any of its four power plays.

The Tigers were helped by Trevor Hughson, who registered one goal. Hughson scored 11:28 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Trenton. Kory Kennedy provided the assist. Dylan Wallace also scored for Aurora. More assists for Aurora came via Taylor McCloy, who had one.

Andrew Winsor recorded 23 saves for the Golden Hawks. Trenton incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Aurora incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
